Roland Klemann, Director, Service Provider Practice, Western Europe, Internet Business Solutions Group, Cisco

Roland Klemann is head of the Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) Western European
Service Provider Practice. Cisco IBSG is the company's global consultancy that works with the world's
largest public and private organizations to help CXOs solve their critical business challenges.
Klemann manages and delivers customer engagements for Cisco's major service provider accounts in
Europe. Moreover, he liaises with the service provider business community, oversees Cisco IBSG thought
leadership development, and helps build CXO relationships.

Klemann has been a consultant to the telecommunications industry in Europe, North America, and Latin
America since 1994. Prior to joining Cisco IBSG, he was with Booz & Company. As part of their global
Communications, Media, & Technology practice, Klemann worked on numerous consulting projects—
structuring and delivering complex strategy and transformation programs for integrated incumbents,
challengers, cable operators, mobile service providers, media companies, start-ups, and telecom
suppliers.

His work ranges from long-term strategic scenario planning for the mobile industry to strategizing,
executing, and managing a cross-functional program for a multi-play digital cable operator, which, at that
time, was one of the top 10 infrastructure projects in Germany.

Klemann studied industrial engineering and cultural studies at Universität Karlsruhe (TH), Germany, where
he graduated with distinction as a Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur. He also studied management at École
Supérieure de Commerce in Lyon, France. Klemann is fluent in German, English, and French.
