Introduction
Part of the New Digital Economics Executive Brainstorm series, the
M-Commerce 2.0 Executive Brainstorm takes place at the Westin Hotel New
York City from 5-6 October and looks at how 'personal data' will
revolutionize advertising, payments and customer experiences.
Using a widely acclaimed interactive format called ‘Mindshare’ the event enables 120 specially-invited senior executives from across the communications, media, banking and technology sectors to explore opportunities to create new services and experiences from unlocking the value of ‘personal data’.
M-Commerce 2.0 supports the World Economic Forum’s ‘Re-thinking Personal Data’ project, which promotes the concept of user-centricity within the context of building ‘trust frameworks’. The event is facilitated by business model innovation firm, STL Partners, and supported by Boston Consulting Group, MIT, Harvard Berkman Center, the World Economic Forum and others.

Event Background
M-Commerce (commerce enabled by mobile connectivity) now amounts to far more than purchasing ringtones and other digital content using a handset. So-called SoMoLo (Social, Mobile and Local) Internet services are using the huge volumes of personal data being captured by smartphones and mobile networks to engage with consumers in innovative ways, creating new business opportunities across a wide range of industries from media to advertising to retail. At the same time, there is an emerging political consensus that consumers should be given greater control of their digital identities and personal data to help them realize the economic (and social) value of these latent assets.

Unique Interactive Format
STL’s ‘Mindshare’ interactive format, including cutting-edge new research, case studies, use cases and a showcase of innovators, structured small group discussion on round-tables, panel debates and instant voting using on-site collaborative technology.
